The Chapel of St. Lawrence is the oldest building on the summit of the highest Czech mountain. It is 14 m high and shaped like a rotunda with a four-sided apse. A Silesian nobleman, Krystof Leopold Schaffgotsch, had it built in the 17th century. This building was also affected by the reforms of Emperor Joseph, after which it was abandoned and used as an occasional pub and shelter. It was newly consecrated in the mid-19th century. The furnishings consist of an altar and murals. In recent years, the St. Lawrence fete has been regularly held here on 10 August, when Polish and Czech clergymen, mountain people and pilgrims meet on the summit of Snezka to hold a service.
