The town hall in Vrchlabi was one of the town’s first stone buildings, built after a project by architect Jan Jiri Seehak in the Baroque style in 1732-1737. There used to be a bar on the ground floor and a large hall for the municipal council on the first floor. The tower was brought down by a storm in February 1801 and a new tower was put up by the mayor’s son, Josef Lamb, a young master tinner. The tower was repaired in 1859 and the whole building underwent reconstruction in 1913. The last changes were made to the building in the Neo-Renaissance style in 1927 by the municipal architect, Hans Knoll. The latest repair was made in the 1990’s.
